Common issues
I'm not receiving the SMS code
Check that your phone number and country code are correct, then wait a minute before requesting a new code — codes are rate-limited to prevent abuse. If it still doesn't arrive, email us with your country code and carrier (not your full number).
I forgot my password
Tap Forgot password? on the login screen. We'll text a reset code to your registered phone number, and you can set a new password right away.
My friend can't find me by phone number
Make sure they're entering your number with the correct country code, exactly as you registered it. Friend lookups only match registered numbers — if you signed up with a different number, that's the one they need.
I can't post a question
You need at least 5 friends to post. This protects the person you pick — with too few friends, an anonymous answer wouldn't really be anonymous. You can still answer your friends' questions in the meantime.
A question disappeared
That's by design. Every question vanishes for everyone 7 days after posting, with no explanation attached. If one of your own questions matched, you'll find it in your archive.
My chat messages are disappearing
Match chats keep only the last 7 messages. Older messages are permanently deleted as new ones arrive — the chat is meant to be a spark, not a home. Swap numbers and take it to real life.
Someone is making me uncomfortable
Remove them as a friend — they immediately stop seeing your questions and you stop seeing theirs, and any open match chat with them closes. For anything serious, email us and we'll take it from there.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app and go to Settings > Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your profile, questions, answers, matches, and chats are all removed. If you can't access the app, email chris@ifyes.app from any address and include your registered phone number.
How do I request my data?
Email us at chris@ifyes.app with the subject line "Data Request" and we will provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
